HAIKU COLLECTION

in the sun

Desires have us seek
more wounds on vapid repeat
so to nurse and soothe

When the motes dance
in and out of the sun’s beam,
Mark your trail staunch true

Shifting paradigms
from deep within the I, of
Self — hoarded, amassed

Through the storm wayward
in the teacup, unruffled
I, step out in blithe

…a rainbow away

capture in the evening by a friend for the rains, sunshine and rainbows — used with permission.

hold onto ends, loose
splicing the lives asunder
patching up the skies

crescent and the trough
an ascent and a descent
only a heart knows

glide along hues light
as the universe crumbles
in a day’s vent

SONNET

by beauty from within

collage of wilting petals off a waning bouquet — by author

Swallowing the world vast in whole
in the gentle bosom’s treasure trove
ardent ethos hidden — smeared in kohl
smothering ruth aplenty, the pacifier dove

my follies, tad trifle and many fold
my spirits ripe, gravid in wisdom true
the decree fierce, brazenly blatant bold
my love — gushing vehemently gallant through

parables vied for, in slivers of full moon
heartstrings spun splattered on mosaic hues
true wishes sprinkled to the heart’s tune

in the light of Vesper’s vista, in yonder cruise

touch of clemency in compassionate grace
for dance of Life, in transcendent embrace!

FREE VERSE

in repose

Photo by Rakib Hosain on Unsplash

Speckled spectacle in coloured petals awash on the paved path
cloistered walkway, serenely secluded in symphonic harmony
insouciance descending down in reds, yellows and sprigs green

Thicket of plush leafage by the side of memories long lost
skies wide open so to fill with your kind of rubble upfront
disheveled prospects beguiling audacious in morning delight

Brazen breeze caressing memories withheld in fervor
salient tears, off valiant moments lived long in torpor
On and on we walk… at daybreak past the prime

Should the mountains crumble down to the sea
beneath the horizon, heaving sighs of lighter shades
impregnating better days for souls scattered in supine

To bloom in an incessant eternal abloom
oblivious to a doom’s day’s grave gloom
Turn me over — spreadeagled — onto your day’s repose!
